Liangzhu Cultural Site is located in Jianyao Town, Yuhang District, Hangzhou City, 18 kilometers north of Hangzhou City. Liangzhu black pottery jar was first discovered in Liangzhu Street, Yuhang District, Hangzhou City, Zhejiang Province. It was named Liangzhu Culture in 1959 according to archaeological convention. The Liangzhu ruins discovered in 1936 are located in the center of Taihu Lake Basin, and the most densely distributed areas are in the northeast, east and southeast of Taihu Lake Basin. In fact, Yuhang District Liangzhu, Pingyao, Anxi three towns between the collective name of many sites, Pingyao town is the center of Liangzhu culture, a settlement of late Neolithic humans. It dates from about 5300-4300 years ago. It is a representative site of Liangzhu Culture in the lower reaches of the Yangtze River. In 1996, it was listed in the fourth batch of key national cultural relics protection units.
