The Tiger Cave is located in the mountain area between Phoenix Mountain and Jiuhua Mountain in Hangzhou, less than 100 meters south of the Imperial City of the Southern Song Dynasty. There is a natural brook in the south of the kiln site, and a mountain path in the north to Wansong Ridge and West Lake. From 1996 to 2001, Hangzhou Municipal Institute of Cultural Relics and Archaeology carried out three archaeological excavations on the kiln site. From its product characteristics, production technology, site settings and many other aspects, it is shown that the cultural layer of the tiger cave site in the Southern Song Dynasty is an important part of the official kiln in the Southern Song Dynasty. The kiln site was rated as "Top Ten Archaeological New Discoveries in China in 2001".
