“Autumn Moon in Pinghu Lake” is one of the "Ten Scenes of the West Lake" in the Southern Song Dynasty. It is located in the lakeside area at the southeast corner of Gushan Mountain, west of Baidixi. The south side of the end is one of the best places to view the panorama of the West Lake from the north bank of the lake and the area is about 0.16 hectares. The theme of this landscape unit is to watch the moonlight in the lake when the bright moon is in the sky in autumn night. At the beginning, it was better to go boating on the West Lake and watch the autumn moon; Emperor Kangxi of the Qing Dynasty (1662-1722) toured the West Lake, titled "Autumn Moon in Pinghu Lake", and named the lakeside courtyard at the southeast corner of Gushan as the site of the landscape and has been used up to now.
