Ding's Garden was first built in the early Qing Dynasty, during the reign of Qianlong, Zhejiang governor Wang Danwang for villas, after Shandong salt transport Dingjia Garden, renamed Ding's Garden. During the Republic of China period, it became the famous residence of Wu Xing Chen in Zhejiang's modern history.The existing garden is smaller than it used to be, with a total area of 1702.8 square metres. The main building was built in 1935. It is a brick-and-wood mixed-structure villa. It is composed of two small buildings from east and west. There is a pool about half an acre in the southwest of the park and a rockery peak next to the pool. Beside the rockery is a 400 year old coral tree. The courtyard is quiet and elegant, which is a unique courtyard in the city.
