Maowanli Kiln Site is located in Maowanli, 18 km south of Xiaoshan District, Hangzhou City, including Qiujia Mountain, Lion Mountain, Centipede Legs, etc. with a distribution area of about 20,000 square meters. Spring and Autumn Period is the site of the Warring States Period, firing printed hard pottery and original celadon.
Investigation in 1956 found that there are a large number of printed hard pottery and green-yellow glaze of the original celadon pieces, roasted clay, glaze residue and so on. The average accumulation of culture layer is 1 meter, the distribution range is wider and the preservation is better. The embryo mud of the imprinted pottery is made of local red-brown clay, and the firing temperature is about 1100℃.Primitive celadon with local white paste paste embryo, white fetal color, shape regular, even enamel.
Evolutionary town is one of the important producing areas of printed pottery and original celadon in pre-Qin period of Zhejiang Province. The discovery of Maowanli Kiln Site enriched the kiln site data in this area. In 2006, it was included in the sixth batch of key national cultural relics protection units.
