The Six Harmonies Pagoda located on Yue Lun mountain on the Qiantang River in Hangzhou Zhejiang. It was built in 970 by Qian Hongchu, king of Wuyue, for control the tide of Qiantang River. It was named the Six Harmonies Pagoda after Buddhism.It is one of the thirty sights of West Lake and one of the best places to watch Qianjiang autumn tide.The Six Harmonies Pagoda look like it has 13 stories, but only 7 stories inside the tower, is a pavilion tower.There are more than 200 brick carvings on the Xumi Block in the tower. The brick carvings are rich in subject matter and vivid in shape. They are valuable materials in the history of ancient Chinese architecture. On March 4, 1961, the State Council announced the Six Harmonies Pagoda as the first batch of key national cultural relics protection units. Before and after this, the Six Harmonies Tower underwent several repairs.Today's tower for the brick-wood mix structure, covering an area of 867 square meters, the plane is octagonal, 59.89 meters high, the tower is brick, the eaves are wood.There are six enclosed floors, seven connected to the inside of the tower, which has a spiral staircase through the wall, circling up to the top floor.The overall structure of the tower, from the outside to the inside, can be divided into four parts: the outer porch, the cloister and the central chamber, forming a double-cylindrical structure with two rings inside and outside.
