Baochu Tower West Lake in the south and Geling in the west, it is the landmark building of the West Lake landscape. It forms the famous "Baochu like beauty, Leifeng Tower like old patchwork" north-south view. Baochu Pagoda, known as Yingtian Pagoda, was built in the Wuyue Kingdom of the Five Dynasties (907–978), the exact beginning of the construction date is not known. The tower was first level 9 and then destroyed.
During the Northern Song Dynasty (998-1003), Monk Yongbao rebuilt, minus Grade II. After Song, Yuan, Ming, repeatedly destroyed and built, all to seven levels. Ming Longqing period (1567-1572), the pagoda gradually collapsed.Wanli 7 years (1579) reconstruction, for the seven-story double eaves pavilion-style, can climb high view, tower around the eaves porch hanging lights, into the night into a great view.
The tower was rebuilt in 1933, twenty-two Ming Dynasty. It is a solid brick tower with eight sides and seven floors imitating wooden structure. It is 45.3 meters high and consists of a tower base, a tower body and a pagoda.Tower brick, the bottom side length of 3.26 meters, layer by layer up points.Top of the tower is a cast iron pagoda, consisting of a bowl, a bowl, five-phase wheel, Huagai, treasure beads, flame beads and other components. The north of the first floor of the tower is inlaid with the stele of "Rebuilding the Stone Tower".
In 2013, it was included in the seventh batch of key national cultural relics protection units.
