Carp Mountain- Site of Tiger Ridge Dam
Carp Mountain - Site of Tiger Ridge Dam is located in the administrative divisions of Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province, Yuhang District Bianyao Town and Liangzhu Street, located in the north and west of Liangzhu ancient city. It is composed of 11 levees, divided into three parts according to its location and function: the piedmont long levee, the Gukou high dam and the plain low dam. The peripheral water conservancy system site is a systematic large-scale water conservancy engineering site. In particular, the systematic large-scale water conservancy project sites in Liangzhu ancient city are divided into 17 sections of dam sites, including Gokou High Dam, Plain Low Dam and Long Piedmont Dam.
Carp Mountain - Site of Tiger Ridge Dam is the earliest existing large-scale water conservancy project in China, which pushed the source of water conservancy history to 5000 years ago. As an organic part of the unified planning and design at the beginning of the construction of Liangzhu Ancient City, it is proved that Liangzhu Ancient City has a complete capital structure of palace, royal city, outer wall and water conservancy system.It won the first prize of 10 new archaeological discoveries and field archaeology in 2015. In 2019, it was included in the eighth batch of national key cultural relics conservation units.
