In the 32nd year of Guangxu of the Qing Dynasty (1906), Zhejiang Governor Zhang Zengxuan requested that the former site of the Gongyuan in the provincial capital be rebuilt into the "Zhejiang Provincial Government Two-level Normal School", and in 1913 it was renamed "Zhejiang Provincial First Normal School". Lu Xun, Xu Shouchang, Ma Xulun and others have all taught here. The original longitudinal axis of the old site has seven buildings, and the existing one, three, fourth and fifth buildings are all brick-concrete structures. To the northeast of the building is the Science Museum, built in the 20s of the 20th century; The eastern stele pavilion displays inscriptions such as the name of the old school of "First Division". The former site of the First Normal School of Zhejiang Province is of great significance for studying the rise and development of the new cultural movement in Zhejiang.
