The former residence of YMCA Clubhouse

The fourth batch of Zhejiang provincial cultural relics protection units

The Hangzhou YMCA was founded in 1912 by members of the local Christian Church in Hangzhou. The old site now covers an area of more than 4,400 square meters. The main building was originally built in 1918, with a three-story Western-style bungalow, donated by the North American YMCA. The existing main building was renovated in 1988 according to the original structure, with a brick-concrete structure and four floors. The Bell Water Tower was built in 1919 as a donation to the Shanghai Commercial Press and local people to commemorate Xie Hongzhao. The formal layout of the former site of the YMCA is consistent with similar architectural features in Europe and the United States, representing the history and culture of a period.
